Message | We vote against, we would support in principle but RL experience has shown this is impossible and that even if enforced, the parties in power appoint 'special advisors' *cough* Labour Party in Britain *cough* As to this from the SLP "So Capitalist Party and RPC you favour corruption, a lot of bureaucracy and bureaucrats and an ineffective, expensive and unreliable public service ? What will the taxpayer thing ? You can still change your vote of course...." Corruption? If employees are kicked out when there party loses power then they cant be there forever like supposedly independent civil servants are. Are you trying to tell me that you would be able to be independent when working with a party who's views you completely oppose, such as perhaps the RCP or a communist Party? I thought not. What justification can you possibly give that i am voting for bureaucracy and an ineffective public service, come to think of it, what public services, we dont provide that many |

Message | While we agree that there is a certain level of corruption and political partisanship in the civil service which is unavoidable regardless of policy, it is hard to see that by making it legally ok to deliberately stock the civil service with political cronies you reduce those problems. OOC: Look at Tony Blair's integrity, the last thing Britain needs is for the law to tell him that he's supposed to stock every level of the civil service with his dodgy mates. |

Random fact: Parties have the ability to endorse another party's candidate for the Head of State election (if there is one). This adds a strategic element to the elections. |
