Bill: Immigration Act of July 2598
Details
Submitted by[?]: National Labor Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2599
Description[?]:
We believe that refugees need to ensure that they arrive in Malivia legally before they can enter our society. Therefore, we believe that the government needs to actively seek out those who have broken the law and place them in integration centres like we do with other immigrants. If Malivians break the law, we actively seek them out to punish them. We do not see why refugees should be treated any differently. |

Message | We are concerned about the additional expense that this would entail. Our gargantuan tax rates are already crippling the economy, so we fear to think of this move towards a larger government being funded by even higher taxes. -Nix Outan, Chancellor, Supporters of Science in Design |

Message | We feel that the cost to remove this illegal aliens is worthwhile. They are likely to be taking the jobs of Malivian citizens, which would severely damage our economy. Currently we have a very large surplus, some of which can be used to fix this problem of crime. It would also leave enough money in our surplus to propose mild tax cuts. |

Message | The SDP sees no reason to begin actively searching for illegal aliens, as we do not see what social benefit could arise from it. As for tax rates, the SDP believes that these tax rates are low, as government revenue is not even at 15% of GDP. And these tax rates, low as they are, help fund greater economic expansion. Rather than crippling the economy, as the SSD suggests, these thax rates have formed the backbone of the prolonged period of economic growth of the last decade, even outstripping our growing rate of population growth. |

Random fact: Cultural Protocol bills must provide a real-life equivalent or short description for the ethnic groups, languages and religions contained in them, such that it would be easy for an unfamiliar player to understand (e.g. "Dundorfian = German"). Where appropriate, they should also provide guidance to players on where to find help with translations and character names. This might include, for example, links to Google Translate, Behind the Name's Random Name Generator and Fantasy Name Generators. |
