Bill: Marriage Reform

Details

Submitted by[?]: Telemon Lutheran Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 2118

Description[?]:

Ok ok, I have changed my mind, as much as I want equal rights for everyone and stuff, I cant back same sex marriage. Im sorry, but as a religous person, I do not feel its right, and I know that we dont want to mix religion with the government, but we live in a society filled with morals and old values, and Im not ready to give them up and allow same sex couples to marry.

MessageThat's debatable...
As a religious person, I do not feel that it is right to force my beliefs upon any other person, and thus cannot support this.

MessageIm not forcing my beliefs onto anyone, but to face the facts, not everyone in society is religious but most believe that a marriage is a sacred bond between a man and a woman.

MessageThat isn't true, at least in Canada, in fact, a vast majority wanted to legalize gay marraige with a VERY vocal minority wanting it to remain illegal

MessageUm maybe in Canada, but unfortunatly, not everyone is that accepting of Gay marriage in other parts of the world like in Australia, for instance, a few years ago in Sydney, the gay rights parada thingy went ahead, and lots of people were attacked after wards.. So im saying, people can go to more accepting places, marry, have the documents, and then return here. I know that sounds confusing, but it does make sense.

Random fact: When your party holds the foreign affairs department, you can create new treaties. However, before writing anything new, it is a good idea to search for existing treaties which already accomplish what you desire.

Random quote: "If man asks for many laws, it is only because he is sure that his neighbor needs them; privately he is an unphilosophical anarchist, and thinks laws in his own case superfluous." - Will Durant
