Message | We will have to agree with the DSP on this bill. Seperating men and women instantly gives all sexists an excuse to continue gender discrimination. Also, this bill would make it difficult to place hermaphrodites in the military... We prefer that military does not base it's individual soldiers' abilities based in any way, shape, or form upon gender. We are against. |

Message | Okay, what about the argument that generally, women perform physical tasks a bit less than men and in certain areas women perform tasks stronger than men. Would it not be optimal for our forces to focus natural abilities? SIP, you do make a point on hermaphrodites. But this is also a small portion of the forces. Our military should not be built around a small group of people. OOC: Lastly, going back to my first point, it is also these physical limitations that discourages sexes from taking up roles they are not good at. There aren't any woman in my infantry unit. But a lot of them are in the offices and do a better job than the men. However, due to 'sexism', woman have easier tests and lower minimums in most physical exercises. And they are assigned the same tasks. I don't know. Somehow, the military world has balanced itself out on its own without too much trouble. Could be the best strategy for Sekowo too. |

Message | Segregation increases morale by reducing the discomfort that often occurs when men or women are forced to live with the opposite gender among a rather crude population. |

Message | OOC: There have been studies on the only military in the world to have mixed combat units (Israel) that actualy show it might be better to keep them apart. When a male soldier sees a female soldier get shot, it tends to increase the chance that the male soldier will "lose it" and shoot civilians and other such things. However, seeing as our units are already mixed, I see no sense in breaking them up again. |

Message | OOC: Also anyone ever see startship troopers. Both genders useing the same public shower in the military :D) |

Message | Oh, for the record, this isn't sexist. In fact, it's less sexist than forcing women to serve with men. |
