MessageWe feel this system is too complicated. A flat tax causes the least work for our citizens to calculate.

MessageWe belive that a stepped system like this is easy to calculate, but more fair for those on lower incomes. A flat tax rate punishes those on lower incomes more, because they can afford to give the least, and so in the SDP's opinion should not be asked to give as much as those on higher incomes.

MessageWe believe that fairness in the tax system is far more important than appeasing those who are not educated enough to understand a bracket-step tax system. If you are so unable to understand the level of tax you must pay, hire an accountant, or for that matter, anybody who has completed the legally-required level of education within Malivia. Malivia is credited for having a highly-educated society, surely they can understand a system with merely 3 brackets in it.
