Messagewhile we are not sympathetic to an obsession with private property, and in no ways view the hoarding of resources necessary to the lives of others a "right", we are reluctant to grant greater power to the government, which so often abuses it.

MessageAs previously mentioned, the GMP believe in a 'social contract' between the state and the electorate, therefore it is not in a GMP government's interest to abuse the trust invested in them.
The current legislation in this area poses potential national security problems and wider economic, transportation and accessibility issues for the population at large.

We are not necessarily against changing the legislation that deals with the decision-making process of compensation for compulsory purchases. Something which may add the level of 'transparency' that the PC are looking for?

MessageAs long as those vital works are deemed vital by the people and not musty old military-industrial complex capitalist piggies then right on.
