MessageAs a result of the proposed cuts in government reciepts, the SDP would like the approval and suggestions of the parliament before putting a new budget to a vote.

This budget is designed to maintain a reasonable budget surplus, and would see spending reductions in every area, with none of the funding cuts being too large or small in any particular area.

The extra money in the pockets of Malivians from these revenue cuts should benefit the Malivian economy, and it is the opinion of the SDP that this proposed budget should be passed as it is far more appropriate than the current one, which would lead to a large budget deficit under future receipt levels.

MessageWe are glad to support this budget. Certain changes we disagree with - the reductions to Defense, Foreign Affairs, and Infrastructure being most worrisome to us - but overall we believe that it is the wisest move to cut government expenditures from the recent state it has been in, which we have felt was overly large. In the long term we hope to see further cuts, but will support this intermediary state.

MessageMalivia Left shares the concerns of the SSD about cuts in funding to the Defense department. We will support this budget, but expect that any future attempts to cut national spending will not change the funding levels to the Ministry of Defense. We do not understand why there is a need for a cut of 1.00% to the Defense department, but only 0.35% to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture. This department is integral to the security of all Malivians and is simply the most important of all government ministries - a cut of this level compared to the cut in Food and Agriculture makes no sense to us.

MessageThe SDP would like to point out to ML that the cut in defence is not 1%, and would also like to point out that while defence will not have funding cuts looked into it in the future, other areas like food and agriculture will. Cuts cannot be made all at once

Further adjustments will be made to the budget in the future as necessary.

Random fact: When it comes to creating a Cultural Protocol in a Culturally Open nation, players are not necessarily required to provide a plausible backstory for how the nation's cultural background developed. However, the provision of a plausible backstory may be a factor in whether Moderation approves the Cultural Protocol if players in surrounding nations question its appropriateness for their region of the game map.
