Message | Article 1: The Coalition for National Strength supports the Article as it is now proposed. Article 2: The Coalition for National Strength supports the Article as it is now proposed. Article 3: The Coalition for National Strength calls into question the suitability of the Black Bear as the National Animal for the following reasons. Argument A: While physically powerful, the Black Bear lacks the celerity and intelligence that the Solentian Republic posesses. Argument B: The Black Bear is not a honorable or dignified animal. The Black Bear has been known to forage in garbage or root out grubs to eat. This does not reflect the spirit of the Solentian Republic's people or government. The Coalition for National Strength proposes that Article 3 therefore change the National Animal from "None" to "The Peregrine Falcon." The Peregrine Falcon is a dignified animal that quickly reacts to threats. The Peregrine Falcon call go up to 117 mph. The Peregrine Falcon possesses a fierce fighting spirit and is able to observe dangers distant and near thanks to its keen eyesight. |

Message | The Coalition for National Strength supports this legislation. A strong nation needs a strong capital, and Solentian City fits the bill. |
Date | 06:22:24, September 26, 2005 CET | From | Solentian Corporate Communist Party | To | Debating the National Symbols |
Message | We dislike the bland name Solentian City offers... We suggest something more along the lines of Caprica, Columbia, or Solentengrad. We also do not like an "Executive Council" and suggest Soviet, Command Council, or Junta. We like either the black bear or the falcon as our national animal... |
Date | 06:42:11, September 26, 2005 CET | From | United Centrists | To | Debating the National Symbols |
Message | The United Centrists agree that "Solentian City" sounds too generic. We agree with the proposed name change of Parliament, and back Executive Council as its replacement. We support the proposal for the falcon as our national animal. |
Date | 07:17:46, September 26, 2005 CET | From | Revised Confederate Party | To | Debating the National Symbols |
Message | The Revised Confederate Party sides with the motion that the proposed "Solentian City" isn't appropriate as the name of our capital. While we have no direct recommendations, we do like the earlier mentioned suggestion of "Caprica". We fully agree and support the renaming of "Parliament" to the "Executive Council." We also fully agree and support the motion of The Coalition of National Strength to enlist the Peregrine Falcon as the national animal instead of the Black Bear. |
Date | 01:46:41, September 27, 2005 CET | From | Democratic Progressive Party | To | Debating the National Symbols |
Message | How about we simply go with Solentian City until someone changes it. The DPP agrees it is bland, however it is a neutural name until we cna agree on a better name. |
Date | 01:47:24, September 27, 2005 CET | From | Solentian Corporate Communist Party | To | Debating the National Symbols |
Message | Why not just change the proposal now before it goes to a vote? |
Date | 02:01:53, September 27, 2005 CET | From | Solentian Corporate Communist Party | To | Debating the National Symbols |
Message | We are unhappy that the DPP has not heeded any of our suggestions and question whether the DPP will be able to work with other parties in the future. |
Date | 02:15:32, September 27, 2005 CET | From | Democratic Progressive Party | To | Debating the National Symbols |
Message | I had hit vote instead of add proposal. This was user error, not arrogance. Sorry about this guys. |
Date | 02:17:23, September 27, 2005 CET | From | Revised Confederate Party | To | Debating the National Symbols |
Message | I'm actually fine with the capitol name, I just like the idea of the Falcon being the national animal instead. |
Date | 02:53:15, September 27, 2005 CET | From | Democratic Progressive Party | To | Debating the National Symbols |
Message | We can do the falcon thing. The DPP supports the falcon as national bird. |

Random fact: Parties have the ability to endorse another party's candidate for the Head of State election (if there is one). This adds a strategic element to the elections. |
