Bill: Fair Economics 2603

Details

Submitted by[?]: Progressive Patriot's Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2604

Description[?]:

All people are cogs working in the national machine. Without protecting each little part, the machine begins to fail, and before long, must be replaced. To prevent replacement, especially in an environment ripe with communist subterfuge, we must ensure that every cog is as happy as possible - at times, populist economics is where the true answer lies, and economic stability is a must to enact economic independence, and thus it is our duty as the government to encourage it.

This bill aims to improve the condition of the average worker, while at the same encouraging expansion by domestic firms.

MessageThis bill does insitute some major reform, but it is necessary. A central banking system is important to act as a lender of last resort, keeping local banks from failing, and possibly costing the savings of citizens, severly damaging our economy by encouraging a culture of spend now, not save for later, which means that during times of economic hardship, when consumption levels fall, the damage will be far greater, and have greater implications, than if they had been able to save their money in a federally insured bank. This is a key component of long-term economic stability for our nation.

The retirement age should be reduced to 65, so that citizens may enjoy lives without work. This is a populist measure, to be sure.

The third proposal is especially important, and the PPP is willing to scrap every other proposal for that one to be passed. We cannot allow key industries to fail in this country, if we are trying to preserve economic and thus political independence from the rest of the world. We cannot be forced to rely on cheap communist sweatshop nations for goods that can easily be produced here, if only the government had helped keep the business afloat. Short-term economic prospects should not damage long-term national interests!

The last 3 protect the rights of workers. Maximum working hours should be decided by unions during contract, to help stave off unhappiness in the populace, and thus providing a festering ground for communist dissent. If trade unions are to be given this power, however, in the interest of ultimate inclusion, all employees should belong to unions, but not be forced to pay union fees. The right to strike must be preserved, as it helps preserve workers rights.

A great man once said "The great questions of the day will not be settled by means of speeches and majority decisions but by iron and blood." If we do not answer these questions now, we will answer them in the future, at the hands of a displeased population, fueled by communist agitators.

The PPP supports independence. The PPP endorses this bill. All right-thinking parties would be foolish to discard the desires of the worker as silly, and not worth their time. The communist threat is very real, and we must not give it any ammunition.

MessageWe do not believe in "ignoring the worker" but we would also like to keep some freedom in this nation.

Some of these article show government taking over industry, which we simply cannot have.

MessageYou gripe about communism and then propose six ways to control the market with the government?
This is *precisely* the sort of thing Communism stands for.

Capitalism can only thrive in a Laissez-Faire market.

MessageNo, communism aims to destroy society, destroy traditional values, and destroy families. We advocate class cooperation, not conflict, in the quest for a better tomorrow.

Capitalism has failed, and the time has come to realize it. Corporatism is the only system we can accept, as it is the only way to move forward into the future, to turn this nation into the first technocracy, the first real utopia. Capitalism will never make that possible.

MessageNo country will ever be a utopia to me or my party while individual or corporate liberties are stifled by a government. No country will be a utopia until the government is not there to govern but only to fill the vaccum so other oppressive governments do not.
