Bill: Further back to our roots

Details

Submitted by[?]: Teikas Kvasa apvienība

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2604

Description[?]:

On behalf of the government I kindly ask to complete a return to our roots.
Upon enactment of this bill the national currency of Dolgava shall be Dolgavas dalderis (code: DLD; plural: dalderi) on par with Dolgarian Federal Haldur (DFH).
Meanings of other changes:
1) The lyrics of the national anthem:
We look to be masters in our native land,
We look to make laws by ourselves indeed.
This land is ours, these cities ours,
Don't ask for what's ours, but take.
2) the flag shows our green forests, white beaches and blue sea;
3) Zole - literally "Sole", an ancient trick-taking card game (http://www.labrit.co.uk/zole.html);
4) move of the capital will place it in more easily defensible position and acknowledge role of Karzon in preserving Dolgavan identity.

MessageI know everyone agrees on that anthem, but it is really stupid to have this as an anthem, it says: we want to be masters (lords) in our native land. We are already masters, why should we have this in anthem, it should be: We are masters in our native land, not we want to be...
It is like poor guy singing I want to be millionaire. Do you ever hear a millionaire singing I want to be millionaire?

MessageStating You want something doesn't mean You don't have it already. E.g. I have a detached house and I want it in perpetuity. You have voting rights here in Dolgava and most probably want them in future too.

MessageYou are right - it does not mean.
But for me anthem sounds more "we are not lords in our lands already", than "we are lords and want to keep it that way"
Maybe it is just me.

"Don't ask for what's ours, but take." - that sounds like Soviet October revolution motto. Again at least for me.

Off course when you all vote yes, I will vote yes, but I really dislike this anthem and our party will never sing that, because WE ARE LORDS IN THIS LAND and we have no need to take what is ours. It is already ours.
