MessageEven to rich families? The current law is reasonable in that it targets those who are really in need of the help. Granting money to all families is just bad policy, especially since we can focus more of our resources in helping the less fortunate.

MessageWe want a universal program, especially to help the working class mother who does not usually receive aid. Targeting aid to the lower classes alone is an extension of the class war waged by the aristocracy to divide the working and lower classes, creating a perceived class of beggars and a class of the begged, to which the working-class and the aristocracy would belong together, unite in their dislike for the begged. Making benefits universal removes this caste system, and declares our intention to assist all families and all mothers.

MessageWe can better lift people out of poverty, and thus reduce class divisions, if we have greater resources focused on helping them, rather than spreading them thinly in the hope of not appearing like a "class-ist".
