Let 'intersex person' refer to a 'human being whom a medical doctor has identified as having ambiguous genitalia at birth or has diagnosed with a disorder of sex development'. Whereas, intersex persons are persons equal to females and males and deserving of the same rights, and Whereas, many intersex persons are at birth assigned the gender female when they feel more comfortable identifying as male or assigned the gender male when they feel more comfortable identifying as female, Whereas, intersex persons are the collateral damage of laws targeting females and males who engage in same-sex relations, Whereas, laws that define marriage as a contract between one man and one woman are a form of sex discrimination in that they prohibit intersex persons from marrying altogether, and Whereas, the Federal Republic of Solentia is bound to the Declaration on the Rights of Disabled Persons, which forbids discrimination on the basis of disability, Therefore be it resolved that all laws that criminalize same-sex relations are hereby declared null and void, Be it further resolved that all laws that allow adoption only if it's by a couple consisting of a female and a male are hereby declared null and void, Be it further resolved that all laws that allow marriage only if it's between a female and a male are hereby declared null and void, and Be it further resolved that the Senate of the Federal Republic of Solentia hereby makes an affirmation or a reaffirmation, whichever is applicable, of the right of intersex persons to submit a writ of habeas corpus, when they are accused of criminal same-sex relations or any other crime. |
