| Message | Drugs can have serious side-effects. Not least, they can be addictive. People whoa re addicted will go to great lengths to obtain the object of their addiction. Making something illegal doesn't make it disappear, it merely sends it underground. Sending something underground doesn't make a thing go away, it just increases the price which is charged for it. In other words - if this legislation passes, we are arguing that we WANT our population to have to hide their addictions, to have to pay mroe for the object of their addictions, to be forced beyond their means to buy... and to be ushered along a path towards crime. People WILL buy the drugs they are addicted to - making it illegal to do so just means the adict has no reason NOT to commit illegal acts to obtain their drug. Worst of all - by driving drug use underground, it becomes unregulated AND untaxed. This bill was not thought out so very well. |

| Message | What the Red Tory Party are doing is called an 'appeal to ridicule', and it's a logical fallacy. There is no parallel between recreational drug use (which isn't even illegal in Likatonia), and murder. One is a victimless act (unless you count the addict), and the other is a citizen removing rights (the right to live unmolested) from another citizen. By allowing recreational drugs to remain legal - we can regulate it, to minimise harm and to mitigate the NEED for addicts to commit crimes to support their habit. There is no such parallel with murder. Unless the Tories mean state execution for capital crimes and multiple violent crimes, or something like that? In which case, we totally approve of 'murder'. |
