Message | As a by-the-way: this is a modified version of my original proposal in the forums. So if anyone wants to try writing new proposals, Wouter is implementing them at a decent rate, and improving them in some cases (although i'd have preferred a local governments option being available, given the shape of debates here). |

Message | (Definitely need a local government option ;) ) The Council wonders again where the money for such an endeavour would come from. How does the CCF intend to enforce its standards? |

Message | This may require a small increase in government expenditures. (ducks for cover) |

Message | Moving this to a vote before upcoming elections. To give a more detailed answer to the Amystian Council: the CCF envisions a system of self-reporting on emissions by factories. A small team of government environmental inspectors will be empowered to go into factories to verify complinace with the law and monitor the accuracy of self-reporting. The costs of this environmental agency are not expected to be excessive, but will require a modest increase in central government expenditures. The exact form of financing this would be up to the government, but the CCF would fund it through a small increase in the corporate tax rate. |

Message | The Libertarian Socialist Party, as a self-styled "Greenish" party, backs this bill. The LSU feels that preserving our environment is a fair price to pay for a slight increase in government expenditure, and a possibly non-existant drop in industrial production. |

Message | The support of the LSU is welcome. We in the CCF are certain that this new party will make a valuable contribution to the parliament of Lodamun. |

Message | This proposal seems to be adequately built to ensure a balance that will not create an overly detrimental penalty on industry. The Shylock Party supports it on this basis -- but if it should turn out to produce significant costs, whether to the government directly, or to the economy, we may urge for it to be repealed. |
Date | not recorded | From | Chorus of Amyst | To | Debating the Clean Air Act 2040 |
Message | As with the hunting and fishing act, this is recognized by the Council as better left to a nationwide plan. With the clarifications given by the CCF, and the proviso stated by the Shylock Party, the Council grants its support. |

Message | (will no one vote against the environment? ;) ) |

Message | (Despite the rising cost of living, it remains staggeringly popular.) |

Random fact: The people in your nation don't like inactive parties. When you often abstain from voting for a bill, they will dislike your party and your visibility to the electorate will decrease significantly. Low visibility will means you are likely to lose seats. So keep in mind: voting Yes or No is always better than Abstaining. |
Random quote: Although I understand and respect the intentions behind the gesture, this is not something that is universally understood or appreciated, and it tends to give out a negative impression of our party. ~ Anton Weinreich, General Secretary of the Dorvish Communist Party, pleading with his members to stop burning the national flag |
