MessageWe will not stand idly by, while Pwnada and their ilk rape the health service for kickbacks.

MessageI don`t see why we can`t have both Public and private. If the wealthy want a better quality healthcare then the option should be there, Private health care would do some good for our economy. I hope the other parties will agree with us in this matter. Maybe we can then let people have a choice and have a more democratic society.

MessageIf the wealthy spend their money on private healthcare, they reduce the amount of income that gets alloted to the public healthcare system. Thus, by indulging their desire for immediate gratification, they make the health service poorer for everyone.

MessageIf health care is free then it doesn`t matter if the public sector loses patients they make no money off of them anyway, the more people that go to private clinics, the less government has to spend. So why not have both in our society. People have the right to choose.

MessagePwnada miss the point. Unless we are going to allow our model to continue in such a fashion that: a) everyone has to pay into the public scheme even if they ALSO purchase private care, AND: b) all carers are required to function in both capacities - that is, there can be NO 'private-only' carers - then the simple result of a two-tier system is that all the best care is bought up by the private institutions, and the public system suffers from having it's top contributors funnelled off to private practises.

It's really not that difficult.

MessageBy not allowing doctors to sell their practice is an outrage. Being a doctor is just another job. Not allowing a mechanic to sell his practice is the same thing. When someone gets education that allows them to do a job, they should have a choice as to who thet sell their labor to, be it the private sector or the g-o-v-t.

MessageRubbish.

SUch pettyminded me-first-and-gimme mentality has no palce in a civilised society. We should be putting ourselves to our best possible uses, and that shouldn't have anything to do with whether or not we get to eat, or if we should be given special resents just because we HAPPEN to be good at this one thing rather than that other thing.
