Bill: Defence Reform Act 2610

Details

Submitted by[?]: Federation Aldegarian Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2611

Description[?]:

During our inspection of the national budget, we noticed a major misspending of funds into Defence, while in the more important Health and Social Services, the available amount is relatively meager (35% compared to 12%). We wish to initiate a redistribution plan on these expenses, starting from cutbacks in Defence. We believe correct diplomacy can resolve international tensions instead of investing millions of ACR on precautionary security measures.

MessageSuch an extremist stance of pacifism would lead surely to a fall in citizens' respect to the government's effort in the short run, and more importantly will expose our nation to imperialist and expansionist threats from the interterra theatre. We should not let our healthy body be threatened by these internal and external risks. I suggest and agree with a moderation on the proposal, which is from 'banned' to 'regulated'.

MessageThough the scourge of war is not a good one. However, we believe that the dismantling of the defense industry will leave the government at a disadvantage in the world stage and could leave our nation at the feet of others.
