This bill seeks to define nationality in United Jakania. It recognises that all people, no matter where their place of birth, have the potential to contribute to society in Jakania, and it recognises that all people should be granted the potential to become nationals, and contribute to our political process. Date | 11:32:25, September 28, 2005 CET | From | Islamic Nationalist Front | To | Debating the Nationality Definition Bill |
Message | The LP would go a step further and allow any resident the ability to declare nationality. However, we will gladly support the Liberal Socialists in passing this bill. |
Date | 13:22:23, September 28, 2005 CET | From | Nudist Party of United Jakania | To | Debating the Nationality Definition Bill |
Message | The Nudist Party would ask that Article One be changed. While we do not wish to be exclusive, we do object to the "permenancy" of foreign residents where it affects employment and status of our nationals--which should ALWAYS recieve priority and preference in regards to federal assistance, employment, and healthcare. |
Date | 16:02:51, September 28, 2005 CET | From | Jakanian Liberal Socialists | To | Debating the Nationality Definition Bill |
Message | The JLSP respects the Nudist's Party's opinion, but does not agree. However, we are intrigued by the Libertarian Party's stance, and are considering backing it. We would be interested in hearing more from the other parties before the bill takes its final form and proceeds to vote. |
Date | 02:04:46, September 29, 2005 CET | From | Jakanian Conservative Party | To | Debating the Nationality Definition Bill |
Message | Immigrants must be naturalized in order to gain permanent residence. |
Date | 06:12:14, September 29, 2005 CET | From | Nudist Party of United Jakania | To | Debating the Nationality Definition Bill |
Message | Again, the NP and the FR are in agreement on this issue. |
Date | 07:22:45, September 29, 2005 CET | From | Union of Leftist Thinkers | To | Debating the Nationality Definition Bill |
Message | The ULT supports this bill. We feel that anyone should be eligable for citizenship should they so desire, however we do feel that the idea of a test to gain nationality is probably a good idea. |

Random fact: Did you know you can change the official name of your nation? All you need to do is draw up a new name that is in accordance with the Nation Renaming Guide, pass a bill proposing the name change with a two-thirds majority and then post a request to Moderation on the "Renaming Requests" thread. You can change city and region names in this way too. |
