Message | People are quite capable of running these businesses. That isn't the question. The question is whetehr we should be allowing random profiteers to place their own self-interest above some of the core services. |
Date | 00:57:18, July 27, 2008 CET | From | Spenocratic Party | To | Debating the Small Government Act |
Message | By profiting for self-interest, quality gets better. When someone has to fight for their business, they will try hard to lower prices and increase quality. If the people are satisfied with his product, the will purchase from him. If they do not approve, they will go to someone elses business, which will make him work harder to create a better product. The cycle continues, giving you competing businesses who increase quality becuase of self interest. In a government monopoly, there is no competition. As the Likatonian people can see, quality of product and service is not so good. |

Message | The Likatonia people have never complained about product of service. We wonder where the Spenocrats are getting their (alleged) information. |
Date | 22:21:55, July 27, 2008 CET | From | Berosian Party | To | Debating the Small Government Act |
Message | By introducing competition into these areas, quality of service will go up, as businesses will try their hardest to gain customers. This competition lowers prices, increases quality, and boosts overall performance. In their quest for profit, business owners are helping the consumer more than anything. |
Date | 22:23:17, July 27, 2008 CET | From | Commonwealth Workers Army | To | Debating the Small Government Act |
Message | Quality of service IS up, prices ARE down. There is literally no advantage to be gaiend from chasing the ghosts the Berosian party suggest. |
