Bill: Pornography Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Traditional Conservative Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 2613

Description[?]:

Pornography is extremely destructive, and not only affects the person viewing it, but the people around that person. It creates a false social outlook, that causes the person viewing pornography to think that things in pornography apply to real people. It also causes people to turn to rape, homosexualty, and other immoral and abnormal acts. It is extremely destructive to the traditional family and completely destroys everything it stand for. This can simply not be tolerated in our country, and is distinguishable from our right to freedom of speech.

We also believe the internet to be one of the most uses areas to view pornography, which is accesible with afew clicks of a mouse. This is extremely dangerous as children do use the internet, and may accidentaly come across one of these disgusting websites, and it would have devastating affect and that young childs mind. The internet needs to be censored by the governement for the purpose of getting rid of any form of pornography.

And the same thing applies for television, the simple fact that pornography itself, no matter who is viewing is extremely destructive to that person and the people around that person.

MessageInnocente Immeresen released the following statement:

"We have never heard such rubbish in our lives. Someone who is homosexual is homosexual no matter what movies they watch, pornographic or otherwise. Rapists are rapists no matter what - because rape isn't a crime of sex, but of violence.

If the TCP are worried about their children viewing pornography, the TCP should pay more attention to what their children are doing, rather than letting them entertain themselves without parental oversight.

Children in Likatonia already HAVE their own parents, they don't need US to do that job for them.

And grown-ups, well - adults are assumed to be capable of looking after themselves.

The fact that the TCP wish to treat all adults like children is not a convincing enough reason for us to support them."

MessageYes, it is the job of the parents to make sure that their kids are not being exposed to things that they shouldn't be, but parents cannot be around 24/7.

Also, as the TCP stated, this garbage that the other party leaders like to watch is demoralizing and benefits the population in no way whatsoever, with the exception of a sick industry.

MessageWhich would still be at the discretion of the citizens, wouldn't it? Why on earth has everyone suddenly decided to create a nanny-state?

And to think, these are the same parties that complained about the 'control' of the regime when they arrived. It strikes us a pretty hypocritical.

As for the idea that 'parents can't be around 24/7' - well, okay. So don't let the kids have access to the TV and internet if you're not there.

MessageChildren are the responsibility of their parents. The government is not to act as a nanny in order to protect our children and take the responsibility away from the parents.

MessageLike the Spenocratic party said, it is the responsibilty of the parents to make sure their kids are not exposed to these things. And like the Spenocratic party also said, parents cannot be around 24/7, and in todays electronic society, things like this are so accesible that it is extremely difficult to keep track of it. And the fact is, some kids do NOT have responsible parents, and have the danger of being exposed to this, and it is so destructive, we DO believe that the government should censor it.

And its not just about kids being expose to it. This is extremely destructive to ANYONE who is expose to it. And I already explained this in the description. It causes the person who gets hooked on it to make decisions based on it. To ensure they are able to view it, it is exactly like drugs, it DESTROYS the person, AND the people around that person, and it is strongly contributing to the moral decay in today's society.

"We think the TCP are talking crazy.

As usual, they have no evidence to support any of their claims - they just seem intent on randomly removing civil rights in any arena where they disagree with freedom."
