Bill: Income tax proposal of April 2612

Details

Submitted by[?]: Normand Pluralist Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill proposes to change income taxes. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2612

Description[?]:

The Socialists' tax proposal disastrously harmed our great nation. It increased overall taxation by more than 40%, costing Sekowans a good deal of their livelihood, and even decreasing incomes to poverty levels (some could no longer afford to purchase a baguette!) They increased taxation across ALL income levels, some massively. They created problems with taxations which made it so that those making LESS would actually be able to KEEP more because of their unfair taxation schemes (for example, under the DSP system, if you made 65k, you would take home more than someone making 70k after taxes).

We propose this simple taxation scheme which is fair, less burdensome, and similar to previous taxation plans except that it adds an additional, higher tax bracket (as we now have those which fall under this higher bracket).

Random fact: By default the head of government is the ultimate authority within a national government. In general terms, heads of government are expected to consult with cabinet colleagues (including those from other parties) before making significant decisions but they remain responsible for government action.

Random quote: "I do not believe in the creed professed by the Jewish church, by the Roman church, by the Greek church, by the Turkish church, by the Protestant church, nor by any church that I know of. My own mind is my own church." - Thomas Paine
