From | Judicial Union Party | To | Debating the Religious Salary Payment Act | Message | Why should their pay be regulated at all? If you're going to leave it to the communities, then they should be able to pay whatever they want.
No, the reason we have it paid by the state is, like councillors and psychologists, they provide a service to people. |

From | Judicial Union Party | To | Debating the Religious Salary Payment Act | Message | Actually that's five words, but there you go.
And yet you want to regulate religious ministers' salaries? How does that mesh with your "unique" interpretation of the separation of church and state. |

From | Liberty Party | To | Debating the Religious Salary Payment Act | Message | We are not going to upset the apple cart in one fair swoop. We are gradually going in that direction. You have to slowly do it. |

From | Judicial Union Party | To | Debating the Religious Salary Payment Act | Message | But the government will still regulate them.
Ministers provide a service to citizens similar to that that a counsellor of psychologist would provide. We fund the latter, and so should we fund the former, to provide our people with a choice in who to turn to for psychological help. |

From | Judicial Union Party | To | Debating the Religious Salary Payment Act | Message | Of course, you would also want to abolish state healthcare and state education, so at least you're consistent with abolishing services. |
