Message | We would agree to this. |
Date | 03:21:46, July 30, 2008 CET | From | Wiedervereinigten Nationalisten | To | Debating the Inviolability of Marriage Act 2615 |
Message | “Adultery is a dreadful, immoral practice that often leads to the breakdown of families and casts a large shadow over Hulstrian society. Condemnation of infidelity is prevalent in essentially every culture and religion, including those which make up the Imperial Crownlands of Greater Hulstria. It is repugnant to basic human conscience and poses a threat to familial structures. The Hulstrian Nationalist Party believes that this measure will strengthen the institution of marriage and send a clear message that adultery goes against the values of our society.” -Adriana van der Merwe Minister of Justice DM for Graaffsberg Centre |

Message | The Reactionary party will support this Bill. |
Date | 16:56:02, July 30, 2008 CET | From | Kurui | To | Debating the Inviolability of Marriage Act 2615 |
Message | "The Kurui, although enticed by the intentions, condemn this half-baked proposal. What is the point of something illegal but not prosecuted? No-one would be affected by it and the lecherous amongst us would continue unabated. A law without enforcement is not worth sustaining; we must sanction those guilty of these crimes or if not prepared for that, not alter the rule at all. Otherwise this could be seen to be nothing but shallow PR." -- Seiki Hideki, Spokesman for Education and Culture |
Date | 21:13:53, July 30, 2008 CET | From | Hulstrian Monarchical Party | To | Debating the Inviolability of Marriage Act 2615 |
Message | We will have to oppose this bill. Adultery is not a matter for the state/Crown to meddle in. It is to be resolved by individuals and their families. |
Date | 02:55:23, July 31, 2008 CET | From | Wiedervereinigten Nationalisten | To | Debating the Inviolability of Marriage Act 2615 |
Message | "Addressing the concerns put forth by the Kurui, unfortunately, there only alternative would be to make adultery a capital offence. In Greater Hulstria, the death penalty is applied for capital offences." -Elisabeth van Jaarsveldt DM for Hennersdam North HNP Spokesperson on Education and Culture (OOC: Unless, that is, that our resident moderator would like to implement my belated addition to the new law proposal making adultery punishable with a fine...) |
Date | 18:48:32, July 31, 2008 CET | From | Gao-Showa Imperial Party | To | Debating the Inviolability of Marriage Act 2615 |
Message | OOC: I still haven't worked out how to implement laws, I let Hosky deal with that end of things :p IC: Whilst we agree with the HMP it's not an issue for the state to get actively involved in we feel that this proposal merely makes clear that we don't consider societally acceptable while not wasting any resources on it, so we can support the bill as it stands. |
Date | 19:32:16, August 02, 2008 CET | From | Kurui | To | Debating the Inviolability of Marriage Act 2615 |
Message | "The Kurui condemn this shambolic rite for the sake of image. The forethought associated with this cynicism would be better employed to make an empowered stand than to make a very attractive watchdog before ripping its teeth out." |

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature. |
