Message | To respond to our dear friends remarks on Thomas Jefferson, Jefferson was fearful of an institution that limited capital in the hands of the government. That is why he was against a central banking institution. He felt it would limit his "farmers republic." This was not a strike against banks in general, but a strike against government monopolization of capital (i.e. what we have now). When Andrew Jackson, who read this like you, disposed of the central bank, he stagnated the Market Revolution in the NE US and caused massive farm and business foreclosures. A completely unregulated market is dangerous, but a completely regulated market is stagnant and restricting. Both Jefferson and Jackson had no understanding of a modern moneyed economy . Unless we all wish to live in a farmer's republic run by a modern day aristocracy like Jefferson wanted, we need to find a compromise. This is our compromise. |

Message | Not only that, but even with Jefferson's remarks true, why should we allow the government to have an actual army in military terms as well as one in financial terms. We would remind the fellow party who is concerned of privatizing the banking industry of another Jefferson quote: "A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have." |

Message | Well seeing as I did not see we had an election so soon, I will have to resubmit this bill for a vote next session. Sorry for the inconvenience. |

Message | "Current: All banks are privately owned. Proposed: The government operates a central bank and all other banks are private." did I read that current value correctly? |

Message | The government cannot be left completely out of regulating currency values or you get what happened in Jackson's day. But at the same time you cannot have too much control by the state. |

Random fact: In cases where a party has no seat, the default presumption should be that the party is able to contribute to debates in the legislature due to one of its members winning a seat at a by-election. However, players may collectively improvise arrangements of their own to provide a satisfying explanation for how parties with no seats in the legislature can speak and vote there. |
