Bill: Extension of term bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: Aloria United
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2118
Description[?]:
This is a bill to extend the length of office. 2 years is not enough time to debate issues fully, as well as vote on them. (OOC: As soon as we have an election, it seems like September of the following year is upon us almost immediately, and we've got to start putting bills in again. Some of us have day jobs! :P) |
Proposals

Message | This bill requires two thirds support, and whilst we would like to see the term extended for the benefit of all parties (it's only extended to 3 years, from 2), it's only going to be worthwhile if most parties want this extra time to get bills organised and debate other proposals. Our support will not be bought and sold like a common good - we will vote on each bill accordingly: prostituting our power was not part of our constituent's mandate. |

Message | The Freedom Party would also like to point out that in politics one must sometimes sacrifice something in order to get something else. |

Message | That's true. Perhaps it should have been a deal proposed behind closed doors though. *smiles* |
