MessageThese regulations aren't really doing anything, since if people want to drink, they're going to et alcohol regardless of the restrictions we put. All this law does is raise the cost of alcohol for ordinary people. Let us abolish it.

MessageOpposed. This is really stupid.

MessageWell no, it's not. People can decide whether to drink alcohol or not, they don't need the government to decide for them.

MessageWell yes it is stupid. This opens the door for 8 yo having whiskey. Not to mention alcohol poisoning for all ages.

MessageAlcohol poisoning can happen anyway, regardless of the legality. In addition, by and large, children don't like the taste of alcohol.

MessageThis still poses a risk to public safety. That cannot be tolerated.

MessageGuess what? I am not. I am opposed though to giving it to minors which this law will effectively do.

MessageIsn't a compromise possible? Keeping the minor-prohibition, but loosen the bureaucratic licensing stuff.. We'ld fully support that

MessageKids are going to drink regardless of whether it's illegal or not. Prohibition just doesn't work, and it's a waste of police and court time to try enforce.

MessageGood work HKP. Indeed, by discriminating against buyers, there is a prohibition against that class of buyers from making purchases. They will still get alcohol of course, so the prohibition is useless at best, and dangerous at worse.

MessageAnd making it legal is still dangerous but still your point is off base. Maybe they will get alcohol but there are regulations in place to ensure that they do not. They are not old enough to know the consequences of drinking. Another reason why we have laws about carding individuals to make sure that kids do not get their hands on it. We also make sure that those who supply the alcohol to minors are brought to trial as well.
