Message | Baltusia ratified the treaty informally in January 2077, and we feel that formal ratification would be a good thing. It shows that we are commited to internationalism and economic prosperity, and since in order for the CIS to act there must be unanimous agreement among its members, if we feel that mutual defence pact will draw us into matters we don't want to be involved in, we can simply veto its application. The organisation does carry obligations, but these are minimal compared to the potential benefits, and we can wield the veto power that all member states enjoy to ensure that CIS actions serve to benefit Baltusia. If we are outside the organisation, we cannot do this. As a result of these things, we call for the formal ratification of this treaty. |

Message | Seems silly then to bother having any clauses if they can be immediately vetoed. Anybody else have an opinion? |

Message | It appears that many other potential members are reluctant to join. There are a number of issues from all over the place and given the unamity clause, I doubt much will happen. I would prefer to see us form good relations with our neighbours, engage in free trade under the Seleyan Free Trade Agreement and possibly get the NonWMD alliance off the ground, although with major support for that now gone, I think it shall fold as an idea. |

Message | Ill put it to a vote to see how popular the CIS remains. |

Message | Agreed. Move to withdraw? |

Message | Although the RSA are an internationlaist party, we see that this community will further the cause of capitalism, rather than building true international relations and such. We don't feel that the CIS will benefit Baltusia. |

Message | Right. It appears to be very unpopular now. While an international organisation would be to be a part of, the system in place in this one is horrible. |

Random fact: Moderation reserves the discretion to declare RP laws invalid if the players supporting them are doing so in an excessively confrontational way. |
