MessageOOC: I have to wait on my vote until I talk to Cov. However this would allow Henry to marry the new Crown Princess of Rildanor and still allow him to be Emperor of Hulstria, Luthori and the pretender to the Aldurian throne. So until I hear from him, I remain in the abstained position.

MessageThis is not acceptable, the Sovereign of Luthori must surely be protestant, old chap.

We believe this should be a Christian nation, for all Christians. We support the motion.

MessageMr. Speaker,

Barring the suggestions of the RAP from this body, if the Covenantors cast a vote now this resolution will pass with the same power as a constitutional amendment, therefore we hope they make their decision soon and transcend abstention.

I yield.

MessageMr Speaker,

Indeed this would be the same as a constitutional amendment, as as such requires a two-thirds majority.

The independence of the Holy Luthori Empire from the influence of foreign powers, such as the Selucian Catholic Pope, must remain guaranteed by the maintenance of the line of succession as it stands.

MessageMr Speaker,

Policy in our nation is highly discriminatory, I'd hope that the honorable representative of the Covenanters party knew better than to discriminate versus the religiously faithful such as this government so does. As the line stands so many may not assume the throne due to their very religion, that is disgusting and distasteful for this government to practice.

I yield.

MessageOOC: Because of the Covs. decision on this I have no choice.

IC: Mr. Speaker,

I believe we should have our laws looked at one this and consider what the Rildanor monarchy has done on the subject. They have allowed the monarchy to marry any faith, but the heir to the throne does have to be of their religion. Because so, the monarch can marry any faith he wants and not lose his throne, but most remain Catholic to take the throne. I believe we should have such a law that as long as they don't give up their religion, then their spot should not be taken off the line. That would seem like a far compromise to me.

I yield

MessageMr Speaker,

In addition to the compromise suggested by the Nobles – that the Emperor must enter into communion with the Luthori church upon accession – we also require that if marrying papists will no longer lead to automatic exclusion, then all future royal weddings should be subject to the approval of this Diet, indicated by a simple majority.

MessageIf a royal marries without such approval, their line would be permanently excluded.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We are willing to yield on the marriage of a Catholic being approved by the Diet, however, we will not on either a Catholic being forced into communing with the Luthori Church, which is the same as exclusion of Catholics anyways, or permanent exclusion.

I yield.

MessageMr Speaker,

Who would become Supreme Governor of the Luthori Church and Defender of the Faith, if the Emperor belonged to a foreign religion?
