MessageI don't know what an appropriate number would be and so I will put this to vote as it stands. If you would like to figure that out (I'm not sure how) we will support it if it is high and seems like a "living wage".

MessageWell, a living wage would be our lowest tax bracket.

Messagethese actions would spell absolute disaster for the economy of Lodamun. How can we hope to be competitive internationally if we force our companies to operate like this? As those companies close these very workers will lose their jobs entirely.

MessageHow can they be a disaster? They have been proven to work. Fortunately (unfortunately for you), laizzes-faire is not the only economic policy around. These regulations and increase of the minimun wage are to benefit our citizens, the people we work for, the same people who probably voted for you. They deserve a responsible and caring government. That's what we are giving them here.

Please show some evidence that companies are closing and that unemployment is rising. Until then, we won't trust your statement.

OOC: In real life, I actually like laizzes-faire to some extent, for example, I think the oil-crisis is going to fix by itself, no need for government intervention. Unfortunately, this game has very limited ways in which I can show that. All of the free-trade agreements we currently have were written by me and negotiated by me. I am going to keep negotiating some more in the future.
