From | | To | Debating the STD prevention | Message | We oppose this bill. You know, there is no such thing as a free lunch. "Subsidies" or "discounts" from the government only mean that we infringe on people's right to choose what they buy. |

From | Liberal Party of Telamon | To | Debating the STD prevention | Message | i believe you just oppose this bill because i proposd it, just as you opposed the gun laws, when every person knew that was good |

From | | To | Debating the STD prevention | Message | No, I don't. If you would submit a bill that was aimed at defending the liberty of our people, instead of gathering power and resources to the government, I would support it. |

From | | To | Debating the STD prevention | Message | Excuse me, but I have never heard of Anzac Day. What is it? |

From | United Liberal Alliance | To | Debating the STD prevention | Message | We cannot support this bill as we do not believe that subsidies for contrapceptives are the best way to combat the STDs crisis. We feel that education of the people in these matters is far more effective and support sexual education in schools. People will recall that we introduced a proposal for compulsory Sexual Education along with our Abortion Act, but that this recieved widespread opposition and so was removed to allow the abortion propsals to pass. We still feel that sexual education is necessary at some point in puberty however with the education system now private it is difficult for the goverment to intervene though we would still support compulsory education (Note:This is the only area beyond basic literacy and numeracy that we believe should be compulsory). Of course, faith schools who object to the teaching of sexual education on religious grounds should be exempt. Anyway, regardless of this we cannot support this bill subsidising contraception. |

From | United Liberal Alliance | To | Debating the STD prevention | Message | I have, it's Australia and New Zealand's National Rememberance Day is it not like we in the UK have REmemberance Day and Rememberance Sunday. It's just that where as we have it on the anniversary of the end of WW1 you have it when your Anzac Treaty was signed. Is this right? |

From | United Liberal Alliance | To | Debating the STD prevention | Message | Oh, and I'm not trying to sabotage everything, I genuinely do not believe that subsidies for contraceptives are the best way to tackle STD's. As I have said I believe that education is the way forward and if necessary therefore compulsory sexual education should be introduced in schools (though as I said this is difficult with the system being wholly private which we do support), with the exception of faith school who should be exempt if they wish. |

From | | To | Debating the STD prevention | Message | TCP: No, I hadn't heard of anzac day, and after hearing the explanation I am not ashamed of it either, and can not see how anzac day is relevant to the issue.
UCA: Thanks for the explanation. Have you checked the fair trial act? Is that acceptable? |

From | United Liberal Alliance | To | Debating the STD prevention | Message | Libertarians: Have just checked the fair trial act, whilst I feel that it is a fair and just measure which I believe every party should support, I understand your concerns and problems paticularly at election time. If you are really deeply opposed to it and feel that it will hugely impact on your electorate then you must vote the way that you want. If that's no then so be it. |

From | United Liberal Alliance | To | Debating the STD prevention | Message | There is a you say undoubtedly enough support for it without your vote and I thank you for asking me to comment on your change of vote - very noble of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

From | | To | Debating the STD prevention | Message | UCA: Not very noble to break an agreement, but thanks for allowing it. And that libertarians are opposed to the government forcing people to pay for things doesn't mean that I couldn't meself donate to, or even introduce a fund to pay for poor people's legal defence when they are prosecuted. |

From | | To | Debating the STD prevention | Message | Again the SDC has no vote but would like to state for the record our strong support of this proposal. The government must do all in its power to prevent the spread of disease. It is truly unfair that those who do not have the means to adequately supply themselves with contraceptives must suffer the consequences. |

From | Conservative Party of Telamon | To | Debating the STD prevention | Message | Why not just make condoms free?
Anything else like the pill or spermacide should be at normal cost... although maybe a discount for teenagers if anything. |
Date | 19:35:25, April 27, 2005 CET |
From | | To | Debating the STD prevention | Message | Why not just sell condoms at cost? That way people will use them exatly as much as it is worth (ie will have another one iff the value of having sex again is greater than the cost of producing a condom). |
Date | 01:26:42, April 28, 2005 CET |
From | Conservative Party of Telamon | To | Debating the STD prevention | Message | What about teenagers?
Plenty of them are shy, and would rather not buy a condom, especially if they live in a small town.
Some stuff should be free. |
Date | 06:50:46, April 28, 2005 CET |
From | | To | Debating the STD prevention | Message | CP: Would they be less shy because they didn't have to pay. Nothing prevents you from selling condoms in vending machines, if the issue is asking for them in a store.
And, yes some things are free. Like air. But manufactured stuff is not free, it is just a matter of how you pay. |
Date | 06:51:50, April 28, 2005 CET |
From | | To | Debating the STD prevention | Message | Amendment: "free" or "subsidised" just means you don't get to choose if you want to buy it. |

Those who go against the Revolution, go against human progress and must be freed in the most humane way possible.
