Message | Do the DCD want to allow enemy nations to install spies, saboteurs and terrorists in our capital city? Albert Brocklehurst (General Secretary of the Telamonese Communist Party) |
Date | 10:19:50, August 12, 2008 CET | From | Democratic Capitalist Delegation | To | Debating the Foreign Embassy Act |
Message | Your undoubtedly rhetorical question, Mr. Brocklehurst, is a clear and unquestionable example of attempted fear-mongering. Our counter-intelligence agencies, towards which government policy is very permissive, have the authority to conduct a wide range of missions which would prevent the entry of, expose the existence of, or, if need be, neutralize the threat of terrorism, sabotage and/or espionage. Such an invalid excuse to fight this gesture of international good will seems to suggest hidden nationalist motives. Daunte Woodson Chairman Democratic Capitalist Delegation |

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature. |
