Message | *For clarification, we have been informed by the Liberal Party that Kate Williams resigned from the Liberal Party and currently holds the office of Prime Minister as an independent. The Collectivist Party was not previously aware of this fact but accepts that Ms. Williams is not a member of any party, as it can see no reason to doubt the claim of her former party. Let the Collectivist also note that this is not a customary action and that Ms. Williams still retains her membership in the Liberal Party in the official register of government: http://80.237.164.51/particracy/main/viewcabinet.php?nationid=19 Nevertheless we accept her claim. |

Message | OOC: Well, if you tell me a way to erase my party's name from there, I'll do it. Unfortunately, the game mechanics do not allow the party's name to be erased but according to the law, all government officials must be politically independent and that's what I base my argument on. A syou may all have notices, anytime my character says something, his/her name is written down at the bottom. |

Message | The Liberal Party will not support this. We feel this is an unncessary step and fully supports Prime Minister Williams' actions. |

Message | ((OOC: Game mechanics are supreme. Elected officials like Kate Williams are not "government employees", they are the government, that's why their party name always appears after their name in the cabinet section. I'm fine with you claiming Williams is an independent, but I want to clarify that point. The reason you can't remove Williams' party label is because she is technically a member of your party, and game mechanics are supreme.)) |

Message | ooc: agreed. if Williams is completely and absolutely independent of your party, then technically we could have as much right to control her as you do. |

Message | OOC: I know ALL of that. I was just pointing out the fact that while my party's name appears there, I can claim she is independent because of the current laws in effect. In RP I control her but she is politically independent. Someone has to control the character, otherwise who would speak (type?) for them? |
