MessageOOC: Progessive Union, as a mod, when you make bills and describe them, you usually try to make them sound a bit more official sounding. eg "if yho vote no then your 4 poverty and crapy food and prostitution!" wouldn't be included. Also, usually some time is left for debate, so that you can work to get some things passed if other parties don't agree.

Sometimes people play parties that aren't in line with their own opinions (I certainly don't) so it's important to minimise any potential offence by keeping this In Character (IC) and Out of Character (OOC) distinction. Otherwise, a statement meant to be from your party might end up being taken personally by mistake!

It also means you can be firm in IC statements whilst making sure it's not mistakeable for a personal attack...

IC: "The Bastards are disappointed in this original intent. If food is not labelled with its contents, then it encourages people to look into it elsewhere and show a greater awareness of what they're eating. If wages are not sufficient for ones needs, then it encourages people to look into education and apply for stronger jobs with more attractive incentives. If prostitution is legalised and regulated, then it encourages people to be dissuaded from funding pimpery and shady black-market sex industry channels, as well as being labelled strongly enough without fear of persecution; Those who exercise their right of individual choice and frown upon the practice with disdain may avoid it as quickly as those who partake of it may locate it.

Why should we make man a slave of labels, reduced education and insular points of view?"
