Bill: Policing Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Telamonese Communist Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 2623
Description[?]:
Telamon's policing services should be provided by publically-accountable police authorities, not by profit-motivated private enterprises. Some other reforms to policing in Telamon would be desirable too, such as allowing local authorities to determine local policing priorities and giving the police the powers to intervene when protest marches get out of control. Albert Brocklehurst (General Secretary of the Telamonese Communist Party) |

Message | This is reminscent of Rubenstein-esque authoritarianism, not accountability. We must improve the quality of the service provided, not give them more power without reason, in order to produce a truly accountable and effective police force. Patrick Ellson Internal Affairs Minister |
Date | 02:15:53, August 18, 2008 CET | From | New Humanitarian Party | To | Debating the Policing Act |
Message | Though I agree with Article 3,4 , but I strongly disagree with 1,5. Well, Article 2 is somewhat acceptable. For this reason, I say no. |
