Message | We will support this Bill, however we do not consider this to be adequate for the needs of the workers. Single parent families would be put at a severe disadvantage when faced with one income which can adequately sustain one person. The RSA feels that this must be hightened to make it a 'living wage'. |

Message | We would agree with the RSA here. Too many people would go needing. |

Message | My apologies, forgot to post the alternatives: *There is no provision for a minimum wage. *There shall be a minimum wage at a level that a single full time worker on it can adequately subsist. *There shall be a minimum wage at a level that a full time worker on it can support a family of four without falling under the poverty line. *There shall be a minimum wage at a level considered a "living wage," well above the poverty line for a full time worker. |

Message | The issue with the family of four option is that is there a different minimum wage for the single or married but no kids workers? Additionally, can our economy (the 32nd largest by GDP) sustain such an increase in costs? |

Message | I think we can sustain the increase. I think it's undeniable that workers will work harder and be more diliagant if they recognise that they are getting a fair deal, and are not getting exploited. This in turn, increases our productivity levels, and therefore more income to the country, more foreign investment, etc. In the current capitalist system, it makes sense. Of course it's super for the socialist cause as well. |

Message | "I think it's undeniable that workers will work harder and be more diliagant if they recognise that they are getting a fair deal, and are not getting exploited." I would counter that by saying the lower-end of the payscale no longer have an incentive to work hard, as they realise they have a nice soft landing cushion. |

Message | The proposed value makes sense; it is not a national wage, it is a minimum wage. We would expect many, if not the overwhelming majority of the workforce, to be paid at a level above this. The legal minimum is needed to ensure exploitation - it need not be set too high, at a level where there is no incentive to work harder and move up the scale of employment. |

Message | "The legal minimum is needed to ensure exploitation" Hilarious... Missing words aside, we agree and so shall move it to vote. |
