Bill: National Anthem Revision
Details
Submitted by[?]: Heimdall Global Security - Beiteynu HQ
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 2632
Description[?]:
We feel that the current National Anthem is unacceptable and is quite rude and unfair to the Pntek population. We would like to request the Knesset to review it and come up with suitable replacement and for a song that doesn't favour a certain group of population or look down upon. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The lyrics of the national anthem.
Old value:: Our people strewn across the lands, With sharpened crosses and books of lies, By sinful minds and brutal hands, They smote with hatred in their eyes, Our Jewish spirit beat so strong, Our children took to the streets with heart, Yet guns curtailed our Jewish Song, Their blades to rip our kin apart, But now we see a brighter day, And glories from a clearer sky, We'll see our brethren and we shall say, The Lords day now is truly nigh, For the Homeland! For the Homeland! In all we do and all we love, We aim for one uniting goal, Never again shall the tyrants' gloves, Brandish our bodies, sheathe our soul, For the Homeland! For the Homeland! In twenty three and fifty nine, We sent the Pnt閗 back to the east, The Star of David was our sign, To claim our land and kill the beast, For the Homeland! For the Homeland!

Message | "We could understand if you wished to change 'Pnt閗' to 'Pontesian', but the glorious liberation of our land from Pontesian occupation is something for all Beiteynuese, regardless of ethnicity, to celebrate." |

Message | "Of course not, I can't really tell lies about the glorious Jewish Army protecting their homeland from the aggressive Pontesian after all. Even if you discriminate aganist minority population in the nation and have a policy that is suitable for Oppressed Dictatorship and Nazi. *sarcasm*No way! Glory to the Jewish and Glory to the Zionist! Send the Pntek to Hell! *sarcasm* " Anjou Poesy |

Message | "Once again you scream about discrimination, but as usual you fail to provide any evidence of such discrimination. You seem to reckon that because your organisation disagrees with something, that makes it discrimination. Doing so is a disservice to our Pntek population." -Johann Eitam |

Message | So the current song that suggest that Pntek should be expel from their land is not discrimination? I wonder what is discrimination then. Anjou Poesy |

Message | There are no more pteks! They were deported in to pontesi and the protectorates |

Message | OOC: There is Pntek population outside of the protectorate, do you really think there is only 3 settlements of Pntek population in the entire area? When I am in Pontesi, I've never accept or aware of any agreement for Pntek deportation. IC: "We would like to laugh at the lack of knowledge of the CZP and confirm that there is Pntek in Beitenyu. Otherwise, what are we doing here then?" Anjou Poesy |

Message | Just because you were unaware of it happening doesn't mean it did not happen you moron. I infact as oppossed to you, was here when the Pnteks were deported so I know that it happened. Also the CZP has more knowledge of Beitenyu then you will ever have you stupid terrorists!! |

Date | 17:28:32, August 27, 2008 CET | From | HaLeumit Tikvah | To | Debating the National Anthem Revision |
Message | OOC: Pntek were actually expelled from Beiteynu in the past; or at least I can remember two older parties discussing it in a bill once. Thats what makes the last two hundred years of the Beiteynu-Pontesi conflict so confusing, and somewhat of an anachronism. IC: "The current song does not suggest the Pntek should be expelled; it suggests the occupyin Pntek armies were expelled in the year 2359. That is a fact, and we see nothing offensive in stating it.." -Johann Eitam |
Date | 17:42:13, August 27, 2008 CET | From | HaLeumit Tikvah | To | Debating the National Anthem Revision |
Message | OOC: Found the bill discussing it: http://80.237.164.51/particracy/main/viewbill.php?billid=146983 No idea when they were actually expelled though. It also just struck me how our anthem bears a sort of similarity to the UK anthems 'controversy' of the "crush the rebellious Scots line." |

Message | OOC: SPR, I'm a patient man, but my patient is running thin. Calling me with anymore rude words and I will contact the Mod. You don't understand the line between IC and OOC because if I want to destroy this nation and ruined it RP then I could tell my friend to make a puppet and come and help me here, but I want to enjoy some good RP. And for your knowledge I have technically "involve" with Beitenyu longer then CZP . I've go way back to the first Gran-Tadraki occupation by Pontesi. Check my inactive party in Pontesi "Pontesian Imperial Movement" for the date that I join and the forum RP post about Beitenyu-Pontesi that I make. And it's quite strange that the deportation will happen will out the knowledge of the country that accept the deported people right? IC: "The current anthem does suggest that the Pntek have been sent to the east. And it can be intepret into many way, we would propose a compromise by getting rid of that sentence or change it to something that doens't suggest Pntek deportation." Anjou Poesy |
Date | 02:31:20, August 28, 2008 CET | From | HaLeumit Tikvah | To | Debating the National Anthem Revision |
Message | OOC: Yeah, I'm going to have a dig about for the bill tomorrow, and see when it was passed, and what consequences it had. However I imagine if you haven't heard of it it must have been missed in Pontesi. I think its easiest to assume that, for historical continuities sake, that Pntek remaining are made up of a extremist minority who choose to stay underground rather than leave, and a rapid attempt to return by the forced out descendants during the brief times Beiteynu has been liberal towards non-Jewish immigration. IC:"We feel Pontesian is a sutible replacement." |
Date | 16:56:53, August 28, 2008 CET | From | Heimdall Global Security - Beiteynu HQ | To | Debating the National Anthem Revision |
Message | OOC: I agreed with that history reference. IC: "As Pnt閗 is the word Pontesian in Jelbanic language and the curent minority in Beitenyu is of Pontesian ethnic, we can't agreed to that change either. We proposed the sentence "We sent the enemy out of out land" to replace "We sent the Pnt閗 back to the east"." Anjou Poesy |
Date | 17:07:41, August 28, 2008 CET | From | Am Echad, Pays Libre | To | Debating the National Anthem Revision |
Message | OOC: http://80.237.164.51/particracy/main/viewbill.php?billid=170437 "It is sort of the isreali type thing" Most of them woudl of left from the pressure around them if u ask me. IC: Pontesians invaded us so either you take it or leave it. |
Date | 18:59:31, August 28, 2008 CET | From | Heimdall Global Security - Beiteynu HQ | To | Debating the National Anthem Revision |
Message | OOC: Again, you should at least notified me of the deportation RP first. The wording of the proposal is also confusing, but I caught the word "WISHING TO LEAVE" and "BACK TO THERE HOME". The funny thing is that there home is suppose to be in Gran Tadraki. IC: "Take it or leave it? We've offer a compromise and you decided that attacking our party is better action to be taken? The wording is far more neutral in this amendment proposal and we request the Knesset to see reasons." Anjou Poesy |
Date | 19:13:07, August 28, 2008 CET | From | Am Echad, Pays Libre | To | Debating the National Anthem Revision |
Message | But it just defends our invaders to the east. |
Date | 20:55:39, August 28, 2008 CET | From | HaLeumit Tikvah | To | Debating the National Anthem Revision |
Message | OOC: I'd completely forgotten about that bill. If that's the one that was being referred to, the wording is ambiguous enough to suggest it was only for those wishing to leave. It seems fair to say there would be some 'encouragement' for Pntek to leave, which would have changed demographics, but given it was, officially at least, optional and that no property or wealth was confiscated, there would still be a significant Pntek population. IC:"We would prefer 'We sent the invader back to the east', as your proposal would ruin the rhyming scheme of the anthem." |
