ToDebating the Budget proposal of February 2628
MessageTo complement the new taxation bill which is currently being voted on by the Imperial Diet, and has already achieved the support of most of our colleagues, I have prepared a new budget proposal for the Imperial Diets consideration. This budget will see a reduction in government spending numbering 11,245,000,000 HCR, which will be added to the expected surplus (assuming the proposed taxation bill is passed) to give a total surplus of 103,924,000,000 HCR. We hope to translate this increased surplus into further reductions of the tax burden imposed on Hulstrians for the next fiscal year.

Cuts have been made to the largely-bureaucratic ministries of Finance and Foreign Affairs in addition to the Staatsministers Office. The budget for the Ministry of Health and Social Services has been cut due to significant alterations in government policy since the last Imperial budget was created, namely that the responsibility has largely shifted to private health services. Additionally, the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport have had their budgets modestly cut for similar reasons. However, the budgets of the Ministries of Food and Agriculture and Environment and Tourism have been increased significantly. The Ministries of Defence, Science and Technology, Justice, and Internal Affairs have received increases to their allotments as well.

I believe that this budget will serve the interests of Greater Hulstria and His Imperial Majestys subjects far better than the current budget, which wastes hundreds of billions of crowns on lavish budgets for ministries which do not require the resources thrown upon them to fulfil their functions. I urge all of my colleagues in the Imperial Diet to join with my party in enthusiast supporting this budgetary reform.

Random fact: Party candidates for head of state elections are not visible to the public. This means that you cannot see who will run and who will not, which adds another strategic element to the elections.
