Message | Rutania needs an intelligence agency for counter-espionage, intelligence operations and radar, sonar and geospatial mapping operations. However, some within our organization agree with your proposals on chemical and biological warfare but the majority of people in the Confucian league, especially me, as a former high officer believe that the production and use of chemical and biological weapons should be restricted to be used only when sorely needed on a tactical level. - Andrew Lin, former Brigadier General of the Sinasian People's National Liberation Army, now instructor of the Sun Tzu and Guan Yu academy of Military sciences and Officer training and part-time Kung Fu instructor at the Bruce Lee school of fighting. |

Message | "Rutania needs an intelligence agency, well said by Mr Lin, because we are in the very hostile environment. Our neighbours cannot be trusted. Every time we held a foreign affairs department, RDF tried to make some friendly arrangements with neighbouring countries, but this failed in most cases. So, we need an intelligence. As for weapons, RDF is a pacifist party, and in principle we agree. Although, by the rules of political pragma and realpolitik, we cannot support the proposal, but given our current position, we could also vote for. But, we cannot support the proposal as a whole, because of above mentioned reasons." William Paulsen, MNC RDF Secretary General |
Date | 20:06:33, August 30, 2008 CET | From | Humanist Alliance | To | Debating the Military Reform Act |
Message | How can the RDF say they are a pacifist party after proposing the military service act, trying to force men and women into compulsary military service? Article 3 kills this bill. |
Date | 20:11:43, August 30, 2008 CET | From | Rutanian Democratic Forum | To | Debating the Military Reform Act |
Message | "Because we are aware that in certain situatiions pacifism does not help. We are aware of "power politics", not "politics of ideals". We do not support grand investments into defence and deadly weapons, we only want our army to be fit for defence. And if some country attacks, should the citizens stand aside? we don't think so." William Paulsen, MNC RDF Secretary General |
Date | 13:03:06, August 31, 2008 CET | From | Imperium Party | To | Debating the Military Reform Act |
Message | The IP do not support all articles proposed by our colleagues the Socialist League, we need an intelligence agency, the reasons for are mentioned by the CL and the RDF. We do support the use and development of chemical/biological weapons, but at the present time most parties are against the idea to use these sought of weapons so in the end we have to follow suit. Random fact: Party candidates for head of state elections are not visible to the public. This means that you cannot see who will run and who will not, which adds another strategic element to the elections. |
