Bill: Repeal "Bill: State of the Union Act"

Details

Submitted by[?]: Reformed Conservative Party of Lodamun

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 2631

Description[?]:

We propose that the state of the Union Act be repealed. Although it is necessary that our nation's people be updated on news and the direction of our nation, these speeches have become more symbolic and ceremonial than actually informative, as our information systems have developed greatly since the act was originally proposed. In addition, our leaders are exceptionally busy making sure that our nation runs smoothly, and this is something they should not have to focus on.

This repeal does not expressly forbid State of the Union addresses, it just removes the requirement of them.

MessageI disagree, this was never earmarked as a Constitutional amendment, so we have to assume that it is simply a law.

MessageWell, it is a Constitutional Amendment.

OOC: I am going to do some research, meaning looking for the actual bill and the previous failed attempts of the same bills to show you it, in fact, is a Constitutional Amendment.

Random fact: In cases where a party has no seat, the default presumption should be that the party is able to contribute to debates in the legislature due to one of its members winning a seat at a by-election. However, players may collectively improvise arrangements of their own to provide a satisfying explanation for how parties with no seats in the legislature can speak and vote there.
