Bill: International Passport Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: We Say So! Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2634
Description[?]:
The nation issues passports to nationals after a cursory security check. We would not expect peoples visiting our Country to cause problems for us and we in turn should not allow our citizens to cause problems to others. Any citizen attempting to upgrade their ID card to a passport card should expect to receive a full and detailed security check. This will help guarantee that all peoples leaving the Country are who they say they are but also improves the ability of security agencies to trace felons attempting to leave the Country. They should also expect to have that privilege revoked should they break the laws of this Country. |

Message | “The following proposal could be perceived discriminating to law-abiding citizens, moreover, it diminishes state's respect towards individuals. And we would like to take this chance, since we participate in the debate, to remind that in our Country every person should expect to be treated with dignity and respect. That should still be valid even for those individuals who were found guilty of committing a criminal act. The proposal suggests, without exaggeration, that there are hypocrites, criminals and felons living a fake or double life in our country. We find this proposal suitable, valid and effective for the societies with high propensity towards crime and misdeeds. The bill might have a negative effect on our Country and our law-abiding society. Acceptance of the bill might result in the increase of mistrust and suspiciousness in the country. Concerning the cooperation with other countries and ensuring that our citizens do not cause troubles: First we might consider estimating the effectiveness of our police force. It is necessary to look into chances of increasing effectiveness of our police forces, which could undergo additional courses and training, (maybe even have new department opened?), have new systems introduced, where the information would be gathered concerning the individuals participating in criminal activity. Information has a lot of value- if we teach our policy forces to better use (create) informer networks, we might avoid additional conflicts. There could be taken additional crime preventing measures. We do not mean there should be created a secret police or anything of that sort. That would be rather hypocritical. We are strongly against increasing the security level against phantom (and unjustified) threats at the cost of freedoms of our citizens.” Seely Jetkins candidate for Foreign Affairs from Hobrazian Social Justice Party. |

Message | You can not possibly say that to 218,893,167 citizens of Second Imperial Republic of Hobrazia. The government is supposed to serve the people, not the other way around. |

Message | That was our Party's election campaign and has been on many occasions so we have been saying it to the people for decades if not centuries! |
