Bill: The Positive Discrimination Act of 2634

Details

Submitted by[?]: Socialist Party of Aldegar

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2634

Description[?]:

The government must ensure that the future is free of discrimination. We believe that if the workplace resembles what is really society, barriers will come down, and races will come together, and we will all wake up and be in an Aldegar without racism and discrimination. Now is not the time for corporations bickering about pennies, it is time for wounds to be healed and the nation to come together as one.

Message"The government must ensure that the future is free of discrimination" : Isn't affirmative action a form of discrimination, in itself?

"We believe that if the workplace resembles what is really society, barriers will come down, and races will come together, and we will all wake up and be in an Aldegar without racism and discrimination." : For the workplace to resemble what society is, we have to let it be run by society! That is the only way barriers will come down; as barriers in the society come down too.

"it is time for wounds to be healed and the nation to come together as one." : Heal the wounds and inflict another one?

MessageHow exactly is this legislation "telling people how to think" Nowhere does it say that one cannot have biased thoughts, or even express them constantly at a loud volume if they wish, it just requires employers to give historically disadvantaged groups a fair shot.
