Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2635
Description[?]:
With the recent partial privatization of the education system in Lodamun, the public education system has shrunk to reflect the growing role of the market in education, particularly in at the University level. It is the intent of this government to continue to maintain Lodamuns high levels of educational offerings in the public sector. we therefore feel that millions of LOD should not be diverted annually to pay the tuition of individual students, and should instead be spent to improve the quality of the system as a whole. We also feel that students should have a system to help cover the costs of education. We therefore propose a nationally managed loans system whereby students agree to pay the government back for the money they take to go to school, with assurances that they will have access to those monies to help cover their education while they are in school. |

Message | We assure all parties that this bill will NOT be used as a excuse to cut education spending. We intend to use the income from the student loans to make other loans available, and also to help improve the public education system at all levels. |

Message | We do have to agree with the Christian League here. If we stop "fully" subsidizing tuition,we will encourage students to actually put total effort into their higher level education. If they put enough effort, the government and other private entities wll give them scholarships. This will act as a negative incentive (opposite of positive incentive, which means giving a reward for something well done). |

Random fact: Parties have the ability to endorse another party's candidate for the Head of State election (if there is one). This adds a strategic element to the elections. |
