| Message | The nuclear deterrent ensures that a nuclear war need never be fought. Our curent legislation assures neighbours of our peaceful intent, as we will never use them in a first strike. It also ensures our security, because anybody who attacks us knows they will be equally destroyed. This assurance is the best guarantee we have that we will not be attacked. Without them, anybody could attack without retrbituion. These weapons, and we appreciate the irony of this fully, are the best assurance possible of peace. |
