Bill: Taxation Revitalization
Details
Submitted by[?]: Communist Party of Kafuristan
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill proposes to change income taxes. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 2642
Description[?]:
IMPORTANT NOTES FOR VOTING REPRESENTATIVES: 1. The sales of luxury goods produce an astounding quantity of income without being a burdensome tax to any citizen attempting to purchase the minimum of goods. Look to the example of our northern neighbour, Al'Badara: A 40% luxury tax provides for nearly the entire governmental budget, which is roughly one quarter of our own. 2. The bracketed tax ladder DOES NOT apply to incomes fitting lower brackets. It is IMPOSSIBLE to make more money by decreasing one's income to a lower level, because that lower portion of a higher income is taxed according to that lower level. This tax ladder only makes exorbitant income somewhat prohibitive beyond the 32,768 KAF annual income threshold. |

Message | These tax rates are far too high. We cannot support taking over 90% of someone's wealth. |

Message | If you had understood the explanation labeled #2, you would understand that this DOES NOT take over 90% of someone's wealth unless it is an exorbitant sum. If a citizen were to earn the following, you will see how much of that they are entitled to keep to spend on frivelties. I have done detailed calculations and beg for an economist's presence to give credence to these calculations. With my credence on the line, these figures are accurate. Salary => Income 1 024.00 => 1 024.00 2 048.00 => 1 884.16 4 096.00 => 3 276.80 8 192.00 => 5 406.72 16 384.00 => 8 355.84 32 768.00 => 11 632.64 65 536.00 => 12 943.36 131 072.00 => 15 564.80 Only the fattest of CEOs (grabbing 262 144.00) will be giving 90% of their income to the state. They will still be living on an unnecessarily large 20 807.68 KAF stipend of discretionary income. We refer to the post-tax income as discretionary because our government will be providing so many valuable services to reduce the need for personal spending. Public transportation funding can replace our banned private automobiles. Nationalized farming and industry will feed and provide the tools we need to raise families. We cannot afford to shoot down changes due to greed and ignorance, for I have seen first-hand the dreams that can be made within socialism. When I was the child of a poor, single mother, I watched her work her way to feed me. Later that year, our government stepped in to help her out. It even paid for my tuition. That poor child went on to become our country's Head of State, and I will ensure that the rest of our citizens can be given such a chance. |

Message | We understand tax brackets you patronizing Jelbanian nig nog. Now stop trying to pretend you are important and fall back in line. THIS IS A STUPID AND IRRESPONSIBLE TAX SYSTEM. Why would anyone want to increase productivity and innovation if they know their increase in income may only amount to 1/10 of the proper sum? If the reward is not worth the effort, there will be no effort. You and Kevin747 both need to read "Economics for Dummies" |

Message | "Why would anyone want to increase productivity and innovation if they know their increase in income may only amount to 1/10 of the proper sum?" You're right, obscene incomes are discouraged under this taxation plan. Corruption and business coersion in this circumstance is not worth the risk to carry out, coaxing high earners to cut back like the rest of Kafuristan has done. Of course you pay no heed to the massive deficit our country has been running. This tax bracket and luxury tax would bring in just enough revenue to decrease the dent in our national treasury over time with our current amount of spending. |
