Voting deadline: June 2120
Description[?]:
In order to attempt to reduce the numbers of pupils taking time away from school due to illness, and to improve the attention of pupils during lessons, a curfew of not later than 11pm will be introduced during the school term. Should any minor, not in the company of an adult, be found on the streets, or on public property, between the hours of 11pm and 5am, will be returned to their place of residence. The name and address of the minor will be recorded, but there will be no formal charges brought against the minor or their families unless they are found out of bounds no less than 3 times, at which a maximum stipulated charge will be enforced against the parents. Once the minor reaches the age of adulthood then any charges recorded through the Curfew system will be removed from their record. The Curfew laws only operate during School Term Dates, and are not in operation during School and National Holidays. In order to police these laws properly all local schools will inform their respective Police Forces of their holiday dates. |

Message | We can see no reason for this law. A child staying up late at home will have just the same problems as one who stays up late out of their home. It should be the parent's responsibility to control their children's activities, not the state's |

Message | I don't like the idea of curfews for any reason. I believe it is a serious civil rights violation. |

Message | If children are found wandering the streets at all times of night not only can they be subverted into possible criminality, but there is also the problem that during term times many children lose time at school due to illnesses incurred because of being out of the home or being awake and though we agree that it should be primarily the parents responsibility, when the parents do not stop their children it then becomes a Government responsibility to control these elements. As for it being a civil rights violation, the only right it violates is during a period when said children should be at home anyway. If there is a proper reason for the children to be out then, with adult supervision, they can be, but allowing children to wander the streets is not only foolhardy but can be dangerous. |

Random fact: It usually takes up to an hour for election results to generate. During this time, the "Next Election" date is put forward a month, which is confusing. Do not worry! In a short time, the election result will generate and the "Next Election" date will then correct itself. |
Random quote: "No one today can afford to be innocent, or indulge himself in ignorance of contemporary governments, politics and social orders. The national polities of the modern world maintain their existence by deliberately fostered craving and fear: monstrous protection rackets. The 'free world' has become economically dependent on a fantastic system of stimulation of greed which cannot be fulfilled, sexual desire which cannot be satiated and hatred which has no outlet except against oneself, the persons one is supposed to love, or the revolutionary aspirations of pitiful, poverty-stricken marginal societies like Cuba or Vietnam. The conditions of the Cold War have turned all modern societies - communist included - into vicious distorters of man's true potential." - Gary Snyder |
