Bill: Events, August 2642

Details

Submitted by[?]: Lourenne Democratic Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 2643

Description[?]:

My fellow citizens,

In accordance with the Constitution, I have taken the oath of office for the Presidency following President Strickland's death. (http://www.takeforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=195154&mforum=particracy#195154)

I am keeping his cabinet proposal and will intend to keep the agenda he set out for this term.

It is with great humility that I ask you to appoint my Vice President, Sen. Thomas J. Whitmore, current Minister of Foreign Affairs. http://particracy.wikia.com/wiki/Thomas_J._Whitmore

I also ask you at this great time, by acclamation, whether we call early elections following this sad occasion or whether we stay bound to the Constitution.

Thank you for your patience during this time. We are only one month into the new legislative term and it is already mired by such a heartbreaking event.

He was a great leader and we will miss him very, very much.

Once again, thank you.

President Shauna Marnaly,
43rd President of the Free Republic of Lourenne

Random fact: Treaties will be eligible for deletion if they are more than 50 in-game years old and have no currently ratified members.

Random quote: As for rape, of course, that is a direct consequence of the capitalist system of oppression. Capitalism relies on fuelling division and resentment to sustain itself, and so it sets men against women, race against race and so on. Men rape women because they are being oppressed by capitalism, so they take it out on women. Under Communism, there will be no rape, because there will be a full and natural harmony and equality between the genders. ~ Friedrich Pfeiffer General Secretary of the Dorvish Communist Party
