Message | "Under the National Energy (Privatisation) Act 2643, which was passed by the Imperial Diet in April of this year with the support of the HSP, KHP, HNP, and TCP, 'energy is provided by private, unregulated companies but subsidies are given to those on a low income.' We feel that this adequately provides for both the interests of poor Hulstrians and the economy as a whole. However, under the FAP Infrastructure Act, essentially all energy generation and all of the national grid were arbitrarily nationalised. Does it make sense for energy to be provided by private companies and yet for the infrastructure, including energy generation infrastructure, to be nationalised? The rational answer is 'no', but reason appears to have left our economic policies as of late. I strongly urge my honourable colleagues to support this measure." -Nicolaas van der Burgh Chairman of the HNP Minister of Finance DM for Graaffsberg South |

Message | Power generation should be and still in the control of the central government. The government provides the energy for the nation, make sure it get's out to every citizen. Small private companies which are regulated to make sure they stay on track with energy are also in place as an extra source for energy. It has worked so far and I don't see any reason to appeal it. Important subjects like energy should be left to the central government to assure swift results to the people. |

Message | "With respect to my honourable colleagues in the FAP, they apparently did not read my argument. Energy is provided by private companies in this country, as it has always been aside from a small interlude which was remedied with the National Energy (Privatisation) Act 2643. Aside from that, we fundamentally disagree with the logic that the FAP are using in support of this nationalisation. Government bureaucracy does not work as fast as the free market and therefore reactions to situations would definitely be slower in a system controlled by government bureaucracy than in a system controlled by the free market. Similarly, bureaucrats in Kien do not necessarily understand the needs and wishes of people in a small village in Hilgar or a Budenlarian suburb. It is best to let the market fulfil these roles, rather than bureaucrats in Kien, but with proper measures to ensure that all Hulstrians, including the poor, have access to the necessities of modern life, including electricity." -Nicolaas van der Burgh Chairman of the HNP Minister of Finance DM for Graaffsberg South |
