WHILST accepting the environmental benefits of higher than replacement levels of logging operations, whilst also accepting that the replacement costs of those operations can increase costs for business which can increase cost of final products to the consumer, the Government shall enact that replacement of felled trees shall be set at replacement levels. This will help maintain the long term supply of materials available for logging operations as well as reducing costs to individual businesses so as to reduce the cost of the final product. Should any logging company wish to continue to replace at a higher level they would continue to be allowed to do so. |
