Message | We will support this bill. Each county and municipality has different needs and must act on those needs to appoint or elect leaders for their governments. -Ryan Tong, Chairman of the RKMT |

Message | "We strongly oppose this proposal. This is a bill intended against local democracy. Local communities can determine by their own method of appointment - but with that they can avoid direct election by the people, and so we get particracy, hehe :) and not democracy. RDF is strongly opposed - different needs does not mean abolishment of democratic procedures! We have to enable our citizens to elect themselves who they want, and not some bureaucrats, or party leaders or local representatives. People has to choose its own mayor - and its own destiny!" Message | Some MNCs from RDF have expressed their opinion about possible support for this bill. Peter Hausdorff, who is party leader and chief whip in National Congress, has replied to the press: "Of course, there will be a party meeting about this, but I can tell you: official party politics is that what has already been announced in issued statement by Mr Wagner." Oliver Ylsen, party vice president and president of congressional commitee for regional affairs, has confirmed today that this issue will be discussed on the next commitee meeting in following days. He also confirmed that he will meet some members of PCP Caucus. On the question of the press, does it mean that RDF could support this bill, Ylsen replied: "Mr Hausdorff already said what's party official politics, but RDF will be glad to discuss this issue." |

Message | "And how would we know if these local goverments know who they are appointing as mayor, they could elect a mayor that the citizens of Rutania hate. The Imperium oppose." Jason Saynol Minister of Defence Temporary Leader of the Imperium Party |

Message | "This bill is most certainly not a bill to reduce the democratic and voting rights, nor is it meant to reduce participation in local governmental processes. It is a bill simply put forth so that we can, as the KMT has said, tailor our government to the needs of local populaces rather than have government imposed from the top down. As a government, we are trying to decentralise power between the federal, regional and local levels and this would only be a step to creating further autonomy with the local populace. That being said, the citizenry always has the right to vote their leaders out should they choose the incorrect system which is improperly tailored for the populace. This has more to do who will lead the executive in local governance" The Hon. John Young Progressive Conservative Spokesman for Local Governments Member for the Delvar 78th District |

Message | "Mr Speaker, RDF agrees with the point of gentleman from Delvar, but we are afraid that the devolution of his decision to local governments will be used as a tool to reduce direct influence of voters on their heads and executives. In small communities, mayors have more power than in greater communities, such as larger cities. We are afraid that, in smaller local communities, this bill will be used as in appointment of mayors by a small group of local politicians, instead of being directly elected by voters. This, in turn, can increase the impact of central party administration on those local communities: party leadership determines who is the mayor, representatives in local council appoint that mayor and the mayor has then a lot of power. So, in this hypothetical case, the mayor is indirectly appointed by party headquarters, or by other political group, and not by their voters. We agree that every community should be able to pick what's best for it, but we do not believe in positive influence of this bill. Mayors should be directly elected - such great responsibility has to have direct legitimacy from the voters." Oliver Ylsen, MNC RDF spokesman for regional and local affairs Vice president of RDF |

Random fact: Cultural Protocol bills must provide a real-life equivalent or short description for the ethnic groups, languages and religions contained in them, such that it would be easy for an unfamiliar player to understand (e.g. "Dundorfian = German"). Where appropriate, they should also provide guidance to players on where to find help with translations and character names. This might include, for example, links to Google Translate, Behind the Name's Random Name Generator and Fantasy Name Generators. |
