Bill: Social Reform Bill 9: Number of Legislators in Storinget Resolution

Details

Submitted by[?]: Kristen Socialdemokratisk Partiet

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2645

Description[?]:

This is the ninth bill in the Social Reform Bill series. This bill is simply resolution and we hope it will be accepted by all the parties. Our current number of legislators in the Storinget is a set 500. First, that number is uneven, and secondly, it sometimes appears as too general. We propose that the new number will be this:
The population of our country in January 2650, multiplied by 1.845 (One hundred-thousanth of the area of our capital region, Flindar.) This number will most definetly not be a whole number, so it will be rounded to the nearest odd number. We hope that you all shall support this resolution, as our country needs to be different. Not too different, just different enough that we make our own independent decisions instead using a simple number like 500 that doesn't represent our nation.

This bill includes proposals to change:
(N/A. This bill is a resolution.)

One more issue that may come to mind. We currently have the number of legislators evenly proportionally divided so that pretty much every region gets equal representation based on their population. If you like this, please post a debate to say that you like the current system. If not, post whether you would rather have the same number of representatives from each herramark or a pseudo-proportional algorithm that is somewhat evenly distributed but gives smaller herramarkrer a slightly better advantage then they might usually have in the proportional system. Thank you for all your hard work that you put towards running our glorious country, and please support this resolution!

This resolution may not end its voting period before the next election, but if so, then it shall be introduced again to be voted on after the election. The Kristen Social Demokratisk Partiet will take care of all affairs when it comes to introducing the bill after January 2050, if this resolution if approved of.

Random fact: Moderation will not approve a Cultural Protocol request within the first 48 hours of it being requested. This is in order to give other players a chance to query the proposed changes, if they wish to do so. Moderation may be approached for advice on a proposed change, but any advice proffered should always be understood under the provisio that no final decision will be made until at least 48 hours after the request has been formally submitted for approval.
