Message | As for Article 1, I don't think that tit-for-tat economics is a good idea. Say, for example, a poor country has no option but to tax imports to raise revenue - we would be actively damaging the working class there. We can currently impose tariffs and quotas on any imported goods. This is fine - if a country seeks to destroy us then we are free to tax any import from within their borders by as much as we like. I don't think I can say much against Article 2. |

Message | A very fair and reasonable point, which I had not considered. |

Message | There may be times when it is necessary to sell arms to a nation that is not registered as a close friend but still requires our help. Therefore we oppose this bill as unnecessarily restrictive. |

Message | We believe arms sale should be as restricted as possible, why the government shouldn't have something to say on ALL weapon sales. Your legislation make defence industry free to sell to our allies without even asking our consent. |

Message | But surely it is the government that decides who exactly are our close allies? |

Message | Okay, but let's keep in mind that we are setting a evil precedent by permitting our arms sales to be restricted. I only switch because I realized weapon industries are state owned anyway |

Random fact: Cabinet ministers who disagree seriously with the head of government would usually be expected to resign. Parties within the cabinet may attempt to manoeuvre to replace the head of government though, for example by proposing a new cabinet bill or voting for an early election. |
